Finding Self Employed Medical Insurance For Online Business Owners

CUTTING EDGE BUSINESS WITH CUTTING EDGE PRODUCTS

Considering leaving your full time job for your online business? Don't let the subject of medical insurance scare you from doing it. Many people think they won't be able to find good medical insurance they can afford while being self employed, however things have changed over the past few years. There are options available for individuals and families through COBRA and independent companies that now have open enrollment to their different plans. That way, you can rest easier knowing that coverage is available much easier now for the online business and mlm business owner.
When you leave your job you are able to sign up for COBRA, which are the initials for the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985. This act requires that most group health plans give employees and their families the opportunity to temporarily continue their health care coverage. When you leave a job you can use COBRA to keep the medical insurance you have with your company for 18 months. You would actually be paying the same price the employer paid for you under that plan. Chances are however, you will see a steep increase in your monthly premium because you were used to having your employer pay all, or most of the cost as a benefit.

You won't have to pay the full individual self employed medical insurance rate until after the 18 months is up. At that point you can decide to continue with that coverage if you want, paying the full individual self employment medical insurance price, or you can find another self employed medical insurance policy. So, you don't have to sacrifice your current coverage if you want to leave your job, and you don't have to choose a self employed medical insurance policy that does not provide good coverage just so that you can afford to have medical insurance.

Individual and family medical insurance is much easier to find lately. With the talk of a national health care program over the past 5 years, many health insurance companies have started putting together better programs for people that can qualify. You can find many online just by searching and compare coverage and cost. An agent that specializes in self employed medical insurance can find you better coverage, and may be able to get you a better price then if you were just randomly calling insurance companies that offer self employed medical insurance. So, go to an insurance agent and describe exactly what kind of coverage you want, and your agent may surprise you with some quotes that are more affordable than what you might think. That way, you will have peace of mind as an online mlm business owner, knowing your family is covered with health insurance.
